The Final Days of 2008

Alexandria family...

The day after Christmas we hopped in the car and headed north to visit Drew's family in NOVA. Our first stop was Opa and Grandmommy's house. Just in case I thought that the generous hearts that my boys showed on Christmas had anything to do with my parenting, they exhibited the "gimme more" attitude in full affect for their Alexandria grandparents. I am just thankful for the signs of God working in their hearts and giving them a loving attitude on Christmas morning.

Ashburn family...

Next we headed to Drew's mom's house and spent a few days with her. Here are some pictures of the boys during an excursion to help vent some of the endless energy that they have.

Ben and Sandy

Ben pulled his scooter around almost as much as he rode it. :)

Our 1st Letter Boxing Adventure...

During Drew's break we decided to try letter boxing ( the Augustine's recommendation). We picked one that is on White Oak Trail about 30 minutes from our house. We packed a lunch, picked up some friends (Kathleen, Jane and Anna) and headed west on our first letter boxing quest. The weather was great and the kids found the letter box with little problem. They enjoyed searching for the "treasure" and writing their names in the log book.

DIY projects...

During Drew's nine days of vacation he worked on a few projects. Here he is putting in a recessed light in the kitchen over our oven. The boys enjoyed watching him while he worked. Don't worry...this picture is not an example of the finished project. The end result looks very nice.
